It’s not often we get two bonus opportunities so close together to celebrate all of us wonderful and amazingly beautiful women around the globe but that’s exactly what March has in store with International Women’s Day on March 8th followed my Mothers Day on March 31st. Wow!
We all have our own way in which we celebrate our mammas but for IWD there are so many ways to get involved and as with so many other worthy things, there is no action too small so check it out and be part of the positive change.
Since becoming a mum myself I have a whole new perspective on motherhood. It has changed me in many positive ways but one thing in particular that strikes me is how the word Mother actually applies to every single one of us, not just those of us with children. Women have a natural tendency and beautifully warming ability to ‘mother’ everyone around them (I acknowledge the men who do too!). I myself have done this to practically everyone I have crossed paths with in my life, yet it is only now I realise all the many forms motherhood comes in.
Having my own child isn’t that different to beforehand in terms of the love and compassion I have both given and received from others. The love for my son is without doubt one of, if not the strongest loves I’ve ever experienced but all love is amazing no matter whether a blood relative, a friend, an acquaintance, whatever. Love is love.
As with all our hallmark holidays, it is the love that is celebrated just under a different title each time.
Under this months title though, I want to acknowledge all the beautiful, wonderful and brave mamma beings out there this Mothers Day and to simply say to my own gorgeous mamma, thank you with all my heart ♥
And to all women reading this, remember you are amazing, you are beautiful, you are stronger than you think, you are enough just as you are and you are loved. We are all wonderwomen! If there is someone out there who has been an amazing mother to you in any way, now is the time to make sure you’ve told them how much you love and appreciate them.
